Just to save my own sanity, I sincerely believe that goldfish brains can only hold about three seconds of data. The thought of those poor little piscene prisoners swimming around their bowls and tanks with even one thought in their heads is heart rending.

I have moments when I think, “oh my gosh, what if they have the mental capacity of Einstein, but are trapped in these limited bodies, but could potentially save the world?” Now there is fodder for a good story – somewhat like Douglas Adams‘ white mice in The Hitchhikers Guide to the Galaxy.

I created the design above to go on a pair of coffee mugs for my eldest daughter (see the Ducks post) and her boyfriend. They are both brilliant – geeks to the core, but when it comes to everyday mundanities, goldfish brain sets in!

p.s. If you are interested in Douglas Adams and his passion for the planet – check out one of his last interviews here.
