For the first time, HeronBridge College decided to create a souvenir programme to sell at the performances of Cinderella. In previous years the programme was a double sided A4 folded to A5 with the basic information it as there was virtually no budget. However this year they have GONE BIG! I was asked to design an 8 page A4 programme with 4 full pages of photographs from the show. It was a bit of a crazy rush as we had to wait for a dress rehearsal to get the photographs done, so I had half a day to throw it together and send it to print.

With the tickets I had initiated the idea that each audience member had a ticket to the ball and had included some “public service announcements” at the bottom of each ticket to that effect. I decided the programme would be laid out like pages from the Royal Scrapbook, with captions written by one of the Royal parents (we are not sure which one as the Royal “we” is employed rather liberally). I had a lot of fun making up the captions and having not seen the show, I had to guess what was happening from the photos, or make some comments about the characters. Here are some of my favourites:

Every year, the last show of the run is a “VIP” performance. Complimentary tickets are offered to the great and the good from the school after which, the families of cast and crew members get preferential booking.

The VIP tickets include nibbles and drinks before the show and during interval, and this year the caterers asked for the glass slipper design to be sent to them so that they could create exclusive cupcake toppers for the guests. Here is a peek at how they turned out! They were delicious too!
